I’ve recently moved to Liverpool so I’m still exploring and finding cool places to go out for food and drinks. I also only started my job in November 21 so I’m on a big learning curve at the moment!
At uni I made loads of mates who I make an effort to see when I’m free, so I’m up and down to Scotland to see them a lot. I play rugby in Manchester and I’m enjoying playing in the English Leagues.

I work in the chemistry and chemical engineering team at ONR, so I spend a lot of time reading reports about chemistry on nuclear sites and then making judgements, with the help of some more experienced people I work with to make sure that everything is safe. A lot of the work I do is making sure that nuclear sites are following the nuclear safety rules and keeping the public (you) safe.

My Typical Day:
I wake up and go to the gym or for a quick run (unless I’m feeling lazy) then come home and have breakfast. I work from home so I start work at about 8:30am, which is loads of reading, writing reports and having meetings. I have my lunch in my flat and call some of my friends from work for a chat while we have our lunch, then I work until 4:30pm, then I turn my laptop off and I’m done for the day.

I’ll usually wake up at about 6:30am and do some exercise and then get myself a healthy(ish) breakfast and get myself ready for work at 8:30am. I can start whenever I like though, since I work from home, so I could start work at 9:30 if I really wanted to. When I’m working I spend most of my time using my laptop. I read loads of reports about nuclear chemistry and what’s been going on at nuclear reactors (like where Homer Simpson works) and I’ll probably have to a write a report myself saying what I thought about what I’ve been reading. I also spend 2/3 hours a day in meetings with people I work with chatting about work I’m doing and getting any help if I need it.
I get an hour for lunch so I’ll watch TV sometimes or call some of my work friends for a chat while we have lunch. I’ll then work until 4:30pm, then I can turn off my laptop and enjky my evening.
