      They are mainly made of hydrogen, which is the lightest molecule you can have, and also some helium (the gas that makes balloons float!).
      Older stars can make heavier elements such as oxygen (which we breathe) and carbon (which we are made of!). When a star dies, there is a massive explosion called a “supernova” – this launches all of this heavier material into space where it will eventually settle on different planets.

      So basically, we are all made of stars!
