I don’t think so. I love doing astronomy and I want to keep doing it for as long as I can.
I do wonder whether there is another job I would love even more than astronomy, but I think you will always think that!
I personally find astronomy really interesting and exciting so I have no regrets 🙂

No, none at all! Quantum technology is such a fascinating and fast-paced field to be in. I’m always excited by developments in the field and how we’re slowly getting closer to creating new tech like quantum computers. I hope that the work we do in this field really benefits the world in the future as it has so much potential to do so.

      Hi! Thanks for your question.

I don’t think so! I have only begun to scratch the surface of what this field has got to offer – every time I’ve got even a little bit bored I’ve been able to find something new to look at.

My only regret is that I didnt think it was a real job previously so didn’t get started sooner! Does that make sense?

I didn’t know that being a scientific content producer was something out there that I could do! I thought being a scientist was just men in labs, and to be honest I thought it sounded boring!

So I really regret not doing more research, getting started sooner and knowing that the option was out there.

But my job is really interesting, I get to speak to astronauts from NASA space station, I get to speak to nobel prize winners.

So if you haven’t come across your dream job yet, just keep doing what you are passionate about and it’ll come to you

None at all! I wish more people knew about my field, but that’s why I’m actively working to change that!

I don’t have regrets, but there have been many times where I have changed my education/career direction, even when this meant taking a step backwards or sideways.

This included at the most extreme dropping out of history at university and working in a supermarket for two years before eventually returning to study physics. It also includes little things like dropping further-maths and picking up english-literature in my second year of A-levels, or changing my degree from “physics with teacher training” to “physics with astrophysics” in my second year.

I think it’s important not to specialise too quickly and be okay with changing your mind like this. If you follow what you enjoy or find interesting in the moment, you’re doing good – we live in the present, not the future, and certainly not the past.

I really enjoy my work at the moment, but I’ve had to admit to myself that I didn’t enjoy what I was doing several times to get here. That can be really scary sometimes, especially when you don’t know whether the change will end up being something even worse!
