      Hi, thanks for your question!

There could be a few reasons.

Firstly, a computers processing speed is limited by its “clock speed”. Every digital action made in a computer is timed by a clock. This is an electronic component that creates a voltage that very quickly goes up and down. The faster the clock speed, the faster your computer will run. Some people “Overclock” their computers, where they make their clock run faster. This can be harmful to the computer though as everything will get a lot hotter.

Computers also have a set amount of RAM – Random Access Memory. This stores information used when processing something – a bit like doing maths in you head. If an application can only use a bit of this RAM then it will take longer to run a process. Decreasing the number of processes you’re running will also free up RAM to be used by other applications.

Internet processes can also be slow because of a poor “bandwidth”. This is the range of channels your internet can communicate to you – so small bandwidth mean less channels and less information coming in at a time.

      Hope this answers your question!
